Michael has come to us from the construction industry. He is a retired member of Operating Enginers, Local #98. Michael was their apprenticeship instructor along with his dedication to worker safety, he was appointed as their Director of Safety Training. He took many health and safety training classes to better his understanding of the unique obstacles encountered in safety training. Michael is qualified for all aspects of safety training. His expertise in cranes and trenching really makes Michael quite an asset to Western MassCOSH. Michael was one of the first members of Western MassCOSH, as he served on the original Executive Board in 1991, and held that office until he became Executive Director on 2006.
Nancy came to Western MassCosh thru the Injured Workers' Resource arm of Western MassCOSH, as she suffered, and continues to suffer, from a workplace injury. Nancy continues to help injured workers receive what is due to them all while dedicating herself to training others to work safely in their workplace. Nancy also coordinates the Worker Memorial Day ceremony and The Alliance For Injured Workers' Program.
Donald became acquainted with Western MassCOSH while he was being trained in Lead Abatement thru MassCOSH in Boston. Before Don's retirement from construction, he also was an apprenticeship instructor. His safety training began with asbestos abatement training, becoming an EPA registered asbestos trainer. He took training to include first aid/CPR, an OSHA outreach trainer for OSHA ten and thirty hour OSHA trainings. He also is qualified to teach electrical safety, ladder safety, scaffolding safety, lead in construction, confined space and almost all other safety training pertaining to the construction industry. Donald also teaches the hazardous waste training at UMASS-Lowell.
